Artist Statement:
My work is a testament to my personal journey, a voyage through the intricate landscape of the feminine experience of menopause. My own physiological and psychological changes and a healthcare system that frequently fails to acknowledge these changes have shaped it. This work was born out of a sense of being overlooked and my subsequent decision to advocate for myself and reclaim my health and well-being.
This body of work illuminates the diverse emotional landscapes, challenges, and circumstances women encounter throughout the three stages of menopause. I aim to foster empathy and understanding of the multifaceted nature of women's experiences.
I aspire to create art as a beacon of understanding and solace for women navigating similar circumstances. I aim to offer profound insights into this natural yet often overlooked aspect of womanhood and foster a deep sense of empathy and connection. By sharing my journey, I hope to illuminate the shared experiences that bind us together and inspire hope and comfort in the face of menopause.
