Artist Statement:
This collection of floral fine art photographs is an intimate exploration of grief, born from my journey through the loss of my mother. Each image is a visual elegy, capturing the raw, unfiltered emotions accompanying mourning.

I employ abstract perspectives to reveal flowers' hidden beauty and fragility. I enhance their inherent colors with inks, deepening the emotional intensity of each composition by experimenting with contrast. I aim to create a visual language that speaks to the delicate balance between pain and resilience.

The interplay of light and shadow is a central element in my work. I immerse flowers in water infused with ink and paint, creating a dynamic environment where abstract patterns emerge, amplifying the emotional impact of each image. This unique technique allows me to delve into the depths of my grief while celebrating the natural world's enduring beauty.
Ultimately, my intention is to evoke a spectrum of emotions within the viewer and create a profound and lasting connection. By juxtaposing the rawness of grief with the inherent beauty of nature, I hope to create a body of work that resonates deeply and authentically with those who have experienced loss. These images are not simply depictions of flowers but visual manifestations of the human heart in its most vulnerable and transformative state, inviting the viewer to reflect and connect.
While this project's current body of work represents a promising start, I feel it is incomplete. I aim to expand the series to encompass 16-20 images, diving deeper into the exploration of grief through floral photography.

Throughout the initial stages of this project, I have been actively refining my technique, experimenting with various combinations of inks, paints, and floral subjects. I am just beginning to grasp the full potential of this unique approach and am eager to continue pushing the boundaries of my creative expression.

The images created thus far have provided valuable insights and lessons, serving as a foundation for further exploration. By continuing to create within this series, I aim to refine my artistic vision further, strengthen the work's emotional impact, and ultimately produce a cohesive collection.
